Husqvarna Group pilots Microsoft 365 Copilot with 300 staff and reports 34 minutes saved a day
Husqvarna Group, the Swedish maker of outdoor power products, gave 300 Microsoft 365 Copilot licences to staff from management to customer service in autumn 2024. In a staff survey, participants reported saving 34 minutes a day on average. Financial impact has not been calculated.

What it took
The problem
Husqvarna Group makes products from chainsaws to robotic lawnmowers. It set up a new Enterprise AI department inside central IT, which identified priority areas for AI under a mandate from group management. One of its first tasks was to test whether a general office assistant would pay off before buying it at scale.
What they built
The group ran a pilot of Microsoft 365 Copilot, an AI assistant built into Office tools such as Word and Teams. It handed out 300 licences to people in roles from management to customer service. The Swedish release adds that they worked in accounting, sales, legal, supply chain and HR, in Sweden, Germany, France, Poland and the US.
How they did it
Before the main pilot, 30 early adopters tested the tool in summer 2024 using only public training material. In autumn 2024 the 300 pilot users received an official training programme, run with help from a Microsoft partner. After a two-month test period, participants answered a self-assessment survey. Husqvarna chose Copilot partly because it fits its existing Microsoft setup.
Results
Participants reported saving 34 minutes a day on average. Microsoft's own studies cite 30. In the survey, 85% said they were more productive. Only 5 of the 300 wanted to give up their licence at the end. Users who had trained reported 34 minutes a day against 13 for those given access without an introduction. The company has not yet turned these gains into financial results, and said it would allocate more licences to roles where the effect on revenue or costs can be measured.
What to copy
Treat training as part of the rollout, and measure the effect by role before buying more licences.
Lessons for your project
Pair licences with a real training programme. Husqvarna's trained users reported far larger gains than people who were simply given access.
Test with a small group of early adopters before the main pilot. Husqvarna's 30 early adopters, who had only public training links, reported 12 minutes a day, which showed what an untrained rollout might deliver.
Spread the pilot across roles, from management to customer service, to see where time savings actually appear.
Collect survey results, but plan how to turn them into financial figures. Husqvarna has not yet calculated the money value of the time saved.
Caveats
- Both sources are Microsoft publications, so the figures are vendor-reported. No independent source confirms them. The Swedish release was read through an archived copy because the live page blocked automated access.
- The results come from a staff self-assessment survey, not measured output. The English story says the survey largely used Microsoft's own questions.
- The English page prints no date. The deployment date shows only the year, because the sources give seasons (summer and autumn 2024). The publication date is that of the Swedish release.
- The two sources compare the 34 minutes with different groups: the English story with a Microsoft benchmark of 30 minutes and early adopters (12 minutes), the Swedish release with 13 minutes for users without an introduction.
- Husqvarna says it has not yet calculated what the gains mean in financial terms. No model is named.
